International/Olympic Triathlon/Duathlon level
1300M swim/42K bike/10K run
This Triathlon/Duathlon is held at Camp Cherokee located in beautiful Kings Mountain State Park and along the Kings Mountain National Military Park. It is an international/olympic level triathlon with an open water (lake - non motorboat) swim, a picturesque bike ride and a fully tree canopied run. Funds from this event go to sponsoring campers for the next years summer program.
The first was in 2009 and was a great success - We had triathletes from Savannah, GA to Huntersville, NC and is joining the Upstate Triathlon Series for the 2010 year as it is no longer just a Sprint Series...

HOTEL - the Hilton Garden Inn of Rock Hill has rooms blocked out for participants and their families for $79.00 plus taxes a night. Be sure to look there for your or your groups stay!
Also - Host hotel is the Holiday Inn Express in Kings Mtn. The rate is $72.00 when you mention Assault. Hotel is approx 5 miles from the race site.
And for those who camp, there is a beautiful campground located on the Kings Mountain State Park area just up the street!
