We are extremely proud to add three new races to the series this year, bringing our series to an exciting seven races that span the season.  All of our races are great events for first-timers and experienced triathletes alike. 

 


 

 
Anderson Area YMCA Sprint Triathlon - 6 APRIL 2008, 8:00 AM

With a registration cap of 200, we are likely to sell out this year.  The 400 yard pool swim, fast 20k bike, and 5k run combine to make this a great event for first timers, and also a great way to start the season.  
 
 
Greenwood Family YMCA Sprint Triathlon - 13 APRIL 2008, 7:30 AM

The 9th annual sprint triathlon is part of the Greenwood Family YMCA Tri-umphant weekend, which includes a KID's Triathlon on April 12th (the USAT Southeast Youth State Championship).    
 

 
Tri The Rock - May 17, 2008 

The swim is in a 10-lane competitive pool, with individual self-seeded starts.  The 17 mile bike is a 2 lap course. The 5k run will be closed to traffic.  This is a spectator friendly 2-lap run, with a portion on grass.  

 
 
Middle Tyger, - May 31, 2008 

The race is course is a 400meter swim in Olympic size pool with a 14 mile bike – out & back.  The 4 mile run is mostly small rolling hills.    


 
 
Union - July 19, 2008 

We are very excited as a community to have the opportunity of hosting the only triathlon in our small hometown of hospitality.  Union will be one of the fastest races in the series with a 300 yard pool swim (25 yd. lanes), 12 mile bike, and 3 mile run.

 
Laurens - August 30, 2008

The Laurens Family YMCA will host it's first triathlon in the Upstate YMCA Sprint Triathlon Series on August 30, 2008 at 7:30am. The event will include a 300 yard pool swim, 12.3 mile bike ride and 3.1 mile run.
 
 
Pickens - September 6, 2008

The Pickens County YMCA Tri the Ridge Sprint Triathlon is the final event in the Upstate YMCA Sprint Triathlon Series. It's a fun, yet challenging race for beginners and experienced athletes. Relays are welcome. The swim will be 300 yards in a 25 yard pool.  The 20K bike will be a hilly loop course on back roads that give you glimpses of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The 5K run will be on rolling roads through residential areas surrounding the YMCA.
