The Pickens County YMCA Tri the Ridge Sprint Triathlon is the final event in the Upstate YMCA Sprint Triathlon Series. It's a fun, yet challenging race for beginners and experienced athletes. Relays are welcome.
The 300yd swim is in a 25yd indoor pool, the 20K bike is on hilly back roads that give you glimpses of the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains, and the 5K run is on hilly residential roads as well. Prizes and awards will be given to overall, age group and relay winners. Go to www.pcymca.net for more information.
ALSO!!! Bring the kids as there is a kids triathlon as well for youths ages 5-13!!! The Kids Triathlon includes a 100 yard swim in an indoor pool followed by a 3 mile ride on the road and then 1/2 mile run. Ages are determined as of Dec. 31, 2010. Each child receives a medal upon completion. Awards for each age group will be given following the race. This race is also USAT sancationed.
Please bring a photo ID and proof of USAT membership on packet pick up dates and locations which will be announced a few weeks prior to the event. If you are not a USAT member you will be required to pay $10.00 for a one day USAT license (age 18 and up). Youth up to age 17 who are not USAT members will need to pay a $5.00 USAT fee. See
